Landscape Design

Practice
Hassienda Management is a landscape design practice informed by over 25 years of experience across landscape design, construction, plant growing, and specimen plant procurement.
Our work is grounded in a comprehensive understanding of how landscapes are conceived, sourced, constructed, and ultimately how they establish over time—creating environments that feel resolved, enduring, and deeply connected to their surroundings.

Form, Function + Line
We design landscapes where form and function are resolved—extending and complementing the architecture as one cohesive composition.
Each project is composed in response to site, structure, and scale—allowing residence and landscape to read as one continuous whole.
Equal attention is given to structure, restraint, circulation, materiality, and the spaces between—creating environments that feel grounded, cohesive, and enduring over time.

Perspective Structure + Space
Our experience across both design and construction informs a practical understanding of how landscapes are built, phased, and ultimately lived within.
We approach each project as a cohesive composition—where circulation, grading, materiality, lighting, and planting are considered together rather than separately.
Equal attention is given to structure, restraint, and the spaces between—allowing architecture, landscape, and environment to read in quiet alignment.

Rooted in Understanding
Through our direct involvement with Roadrunner Tree Farm & Casa del Zorro Nursery, we bring a deeper understanding of plant material from the roots up.
We understand plants not only aesthetically, but structurally and biologically—how they grow, where they thrive, how they respond to climate and scale, and how they evolve within the built environment over time.
This perspective allows us to shape landscapes that feel natural rather than imposed—grounded in both performance and place.

Curated with Intention
Beyond design, we bring extensive experience in sourcing and procuring high-quality specimen plant material for residential landscapes.
Through longstanding relationships with growers and nurseries, we understand where exceptional material is cultivated and what distinguishes truly architectural specimens from the ordinary.
This sourcing perspective allows us to curate landscapes with greater continuity, precision, and long-term integrity—ensuring the material selected is aligned with both the architecture and surrounding environment.
